Description: This layer includes all properties within Fort Collins city limits that have received an official historic designation from the National Park Service, State of Colorado, or City of Fort Collins. Attributes are largely maintained for staff use to assist with land use planning and project review. In most cases, feature geometry has been digitized using the City parcel info (CDST.Parcels) as in most cases, the historic property boundary conforms with legal property boundaries. In some cases, historic properties include multiple parcels and/or do not conform with legal property boundaries (i.e., the Great Western Sugar Flume in Kingfisher Point Natural Area). A description of attribute fields follows:ADDRESSID – Address ID as assigned in CDST.ADDRESS feature class. If multiple address IDs are assigned to the same property, generally the lowest address ID value is selected. ADDRESSNUM – the street number corresponding to the property street address. This is usually from the CDST.ADDRESS feature class, but may reflect the address posted on the property at the time of historic designation. STRNAME – the street name corresponding to the property street address. This is usually from the CDST.ADDRESS feature class.ADDRESS – the full street address (combination of previous 2 feature classes). This is usually from the CDST.ADDRESS feature class.LOCATIONDESC – a text description of the location of the property. Most helpful if the property does not have a posted/assigned address. HFTYPE – Historic property type (based on guidelines for the National Register of Historic Places). These include Buildings, Structures, Objects, Sites, and Districts.HIST_PROPNAME – The historic property name associated with the property during its important historic period. NAME_ALIAS – a current or common name for the property.BUILDYEAR – Long integer field for the year the property was constructed. If there are multiple buildings on the site, the year the first building/structure of importance was constructed. DESG_DATE or LANDMARKDATE??? (delete one) – Date of designation as a City Landmark. ORDINANCE – The number of the ordinance as passed by City Council (if a local historic designation). Should include: <four digit year of landmarking>-<ordinance number>.LOCAL_DES – Yes/No/UNK if property is designated individually as a City Landmark.STATE_DES – Yes/No/UNK if property is designated individually in the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties. NAT_DES – Yes/No/UNK if property is designated individually in the National Register of Historic Places (Note: National Historic Landmarks are automatically listed in the National Register of Historic Places). ORDNRIS – Redundant field for ordinance number or NRIS number – delete fieldSRN – State Register Number/ID; this should correspond to the Smithsonian Trinomial assigned by the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation for all properties surveyed in the state – this doubles as the ID for properties listed in the State Register of Historic Properties. Note: this ID is often assigned to properties that are not listed in the Colorado State Register. Be sure to check the STATE_DES field to confirm if property is listed in State Register.NRN – The National Register Information System (NRIS) ID assigned to properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places. SHNH_LDMRKDATE – Date property was listed in either the State or National Registers. If listed in both at separate times, use the earliest date. Note: all properties listed in the National Register are automatically entered in the State Register. LOCAL_DIST – Yes/No/UNK; is the property in a local Landmark District designated by City Council? SN_DIST – Yes/No/UNK; is the property in an historic district listed in the State or National Registers? Note: all properties listed in the National Register are automatically entered in the State Register.DISTRICTNAME – Name of applicable historic district in which the property lies. Enter N/A if not in a district. If name conflict between state, national, or local, use local district name from City Council ordinance.CONTRIB – Does the property contribute to an historic district? Yes/No/N/A (N/A means property is not in an historic district)ARCHITSTYLE – The architectural style of the property. Typically based on the Colorado Architectural Lexicon. Property may not have a style (enter “No Style”). BUILDINGTYPE – The architectural type of the property. Typically based on the Colorado Architectural Lexicon. Property will usually have a type, especially if “No Style” is entered in ARCHITSTYLE.AREASIG – Area(s) of Significance as outlined in nomination form for property. WEBLINK – Link to online materials at City for property. (confirm)NOTES – General notes on the property important for referenceKEYWORD – keyword connections to property; used to track associations that may not be reflected in AREASIG, including historically marginalized groups, women, connections to important themes in Fort Collins history, design/construction by important local architects and builders, etc. PARCELNO – Parcel Number for property, usually taken from CDST.PARCELS feature class. If multiple parcels, usually lowest value is entered. MULTIPARC – Yes/No/Null whether property includes multiple parcels (multiple platted parcels or just multiple ownership records for the same parcel). MULTIADDRESS – Yes/No/Null whether there are multiple addresses assigned to the property. If yes, primary address or historically-associated address is usually entered. Additional addresses should be noted in LOCATIONDESC field. MAPDISP – WHAT IS THIS?
